Louis Armstrong was one of the first jazz/ragtime players. Our R&B and Hip-Hop both have jazz incorporated into them. The singing style of jazz has a specific beat that some modern music replicates and changes. Louis Armstrong’s singing helped impact the use jazz in many different genres of music. Louis Armstrong’s strong trumpet playing impacted many different types of playing styles. This made jazz famous not only in the U.S, but also in Europe. His music was wide spread from New Orleans, to St. Louis, even to Europe. Louis Armstrong was a phenomenal player because of Joe Oliver King. Joe Oliver King was a great jazz player of his time. He heard about Louis Armstrong’s amazing trumpet playing and decided to help him on his journey to becoming a famous figure in history. After, Louis Armstrong was trained by Joe Oliver King; Louis Armstrong was put in charge of Joe Oliver King’s band, Kid Ory band. Although Louis Armstrong was known for his powerful trumpet playing he also was an Amazing singer. Louis Armstrong was an Amazing singer. Louis Armstrong was well known for singing “The Heebie Jeebies” and “What a Wonderful World”. In 1927, soon after it was changed to “The Hot Seven”.
