A hero is a person admired for his qualities or deeds. These individuals have impacted others by performing extraordinary acts. Every hero has left a legacy that has affected many lives in a positive way. When thinking of heroism, Louis Zamperini comes to mind for his courageous and selfless actions. Although Louis Zamperini’s childhood was filled with drinking, smoking, and stealing, he grew up to be a great hero and leader. Louis Zamperini was born in January, 1917, in Olean, New York. Louis started running cross country in high school and in 1936, he was sent to Berlin for the Olympics.
