After pain, grief, sorrow, desolation, misery, depression, over her daughter’s death, mother search down deep in her soul to find a way to forgive. Some teens like to show off shoes, clothes, maybe even money but in this case Jordyn Howe just wanted to show off his step-dad gun on the bus. It could have been anybody, just sitting on the bus as an innocent bystander, but the gun just happens to be pointing at Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus unnoticeable. November 20 of 2012 is the date that Lourdes Guzman-DeJesus passed away. What makes this story rare is that the murder is actually innocent. Nobody that was, is, or will be perfect on this planet. Guzman-DeJesus had to overcome, she forgave Jordyn for the cause of her daughter’s death. She needed a key. A key to release the feelings of loathing, abhor, and hatred, she had trapped inside in for Jordyn. That key was Lourdes. Ms. Ady believes this is what her daughter would have wanted her to do. Under these circumstances people need to go through the pain and heartache to forgive and absolve someone, this is why this story galvanizes me. It shows me that everyone that everybody is not the bad guy. He didn’t mean to shoot her, instead of punishing Jordyn even more, Ms. Ady forgave him. She didn’t just help herself, she saved Jordyn’s life. Ms. Ady supplicated that Jordyn would have a lighter sentence. Jordyn is a 16-year-old boy that has just started life. Instead of Jordyn spending more than his life in a prison cell eating bologna sandwiches, he will serve one year in a juvenile detention facility. In addition, Jordyn gets the opportunities to travel the nation will speak at schools about the dangers of guns. Some people may cause this crazy, but I call this forgiveness. I’m starting to enjoy life. If someone is focused on holding grudges then what will they be doing? Everything but enjoying life.
