35 girls' lives would never be the same. In the novel, The Selection, by Kiera Cass, America Singer was one of the 35 lucky girls entered in a race to win Prince Maxon's heart. Although this brought her poor level Five family money, her heart was elsewhere. She was still in love her recent ex boyfriend, level Six Aspen Leger. She quickly caught the eye of the prince, but at first wasn't phased by his charms. America, still conflicted over her recent break up, realized that maybe she would find love again in the level One, Prince Maxon. A person's level in society has no importance when it comes to love. America Singer loved a man named Aspen, even though he was a Six. She loved him although it was unheard of for a woman to love a man in a lower class. "Aspen was a Six...Aspen was smarter than anyone knew and devastatingly handsome, but it was atypical for a woman to marry down...But I loved Aspen. I'd loved Aspen for nearly two years.
