Aristotle once said, “Love is a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” Aristotle, a wise man, had a thought about love as well as many people do.(APPOSITIVE) That was how he defined it. The word love is hard to be defined beyond the word perfect. Love has a variety of different ranges of impersonal affections. As a romantic it is my job to find a way to define the word love by not only using stories and facts, but by also explaining what love is not, and what love is, and the results of both. First off, the word love has quite a history in which it relates to. The greek distinguish love in four forms of love: kinship or familiarity, friendship or platonic desire, sexual and/or romantic desire, and self-emptying or divine love (wikipedia). Love is not to be mistaken for the name of candy you love or the air that fills the balloon that comes to every birthday party. Love isn’t a sauce you put on your sub when the employee asks you what kind. Love is not a type of dog that roams in someones yard. Love is not any of these things and it shouldn't be mistaken with any of these things. So lets get that out of the way, love isn’t a name of a skill in gymnastics nor a move in wrestling. Love is none of the things I listed and to help define love I had to be clear on what love is not. On the other hand, love is the feeling of taking off your shoes after a long day at work or a warm shower after a long day. Love is climbing to the top of the podium at a meet or sticking a perfect routine.(PARTICIPLE) Love goes well with a cold ice cream cone on a hot muggy day.
