Some people would consider and agree that love is more powerful than hatred. In William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, it involves star-crossed lovers between a family feud which they experience values, loyalties, emotions, and deaths. In Romeo and Juliet, the usage of motifs and puns emphasizes forbidden love makes the individuals to be more rebellious. The use of motifs illustrates how not everything seems as it appears with “light” and “dark”. Juliet talks to herself as she wishes Romeo to be with her and appear in front of her. When Juliet brings up how she wants to see Romeo, she says, “ Come, night. Come, Romeo, thou day in night” (III.ii.17).
