Throughout the century, society from across the oceans has discovered folktales and stories that shared same ideas, culture or same moral. Most folk tales have been used again to continue the traditions from one generation to next by creating a new version. In “Snow White” written by the Brothers Grimm, where they develop the character very strong in order to make an argument to his story, between the lower-class and the upper-class. However, in Snow White Grimm and Grimm illustrate that the lower-class is struggling for a better life, even if they are always working and not having an equal economic situation. In “Snow White”, the Queen calls the huntsman to kill Snow White because she is jealous that she is beautiful. The Queen says “Take the child away into the forest. I will no longer have her in my sight. Kill her, and bring me back her lung and liver as a token” (Grimm and Grimm), now Snow White struggles for her life. The huntsman is being exploited by the Queen’s orders and does not like his job working for the Queen. For example Snow White is struggling for her life when a huntsman going to kill her, but she was so beautiful, the huntsman let her run away. The Grimms state, “The huntsman obeyed, and took her away but when he had drawn his knife, and was about to pierce Snow White 's innocent heart, she began to weep, and said, "Ah dear huntsman, leave me my life. I will run away into the wild forest, and never come home again”. This shows the huntsman does not want to be corrupt like the Queen, but he has to because he is in lower class, and he has to do this job. They were seven dwarfs who dug and delved in the mountain for ore” (Grimm and Grimm). The quotes shows most of the lower class had to work manual labor jobs for long hours. This was prevalent during the industrial revolution. C N Trueman illustrates workers during the industrial revolution, and states “We went to the mill at five in the morning. We worked until dinner time and then to nine or ten at night; on Saturday it could be till eleven and often till twelve at night. We were sent to clean the machinery on the Sunday”.
