The characters Sampson and Abraham fight at the very beginning of the play remarking to each other “[d]o you bite your thumb...sir?” (1.1, 55.60) then the bickering leads to swords drawn and fighting. These characters bully each other around until they physically fight each other. Another major bully in the play, is the families to each other. The Montagues and Capulets “[t]wo households alike in dignity” are feuding with each other and eventually cause the death of “star-crossed lovers” (Prologue).
In the real world everyone makes mistakes that cannot be fixed. In William Shakespeare 's Romeo and Juliet both the Capulets and the Montagues make several mistakes, but there is one person most responsible. Juliet 's father, Lord Capulet, is most to blame for the events that occurred and for his daughter 's death. Romeo would have never met Juliet if Lord Capulet had kicked him out of the party. In scene 5 of act 1 Tybalt recognized Romeo and instead of dueling him, Lord Capulet said to leave Romeo alone.
Lord capulet has never been loyal in his relationship with Lady Capulet. Lady Capulet confronts him about this by saying “Ay,you have been a mouse-hunt in your time”(4.4.11). Perhaps during this time when Lord capulet was doing all of this he was involved with lady Montague but they didn't stay together as Lady Montague left the relationship to be with lord montagu and lord capulet was in anregend marriage with Lady Capulet. All of this will explain why the Capulets are so hostile towards the Montagues . Also, notice how Lord capulet's character drastically changes from the beginning of the play to the middle of the play.
