True loyalty is more than just following what you are told, it (wip). In Animal Farm, by George Orwell, a farm run by Mr. Jones has been overthrown by the animals who have started a rebellion. The motivation for the rebellion was the belief that the animals should be human rule and would now receive what they labored for instead of the humans running the farm taking away the majority. Now that the animals have overthrown the humans from the farm, they have pronounced to the rest of the country and to neighboring farms that animals could run a farm by themselves. While Clover was watching over the animals on the farm, she noticed Mollie looking over the hedge that divided Animal Farm from Foxwood and said, “‘was a long way away, but I am almost certain I saw this—he was talking to you and you were allowing him to stroke your nose’” (46). This shows that Clover was concerned about how well the commandments were followed because she saw Mollie interacting with a human and they have two legs and one of the commandments says that two legs are bad which means that Mollie was interacting with the enemy. Clover would’ve also known that Old Major said that Man is the greatest enemy so she must’ve taken that into account when she confronted Mollie. In another example, Napoleon had a large portion of the animals on the farm executed and Clover gathered with the animals to think about why the executions happened. Clover thought “that this was not what they had aimed at when they had set themselves years ago to work for the overthrow of the human race” (87). This shows that Clover was disappointed and sad when she realized that the ideals of Animalism were not being met inside the farm. This is where she should’ve known that someone needed to bring this issue to the leaders and see through the lies of the pigs so that the ideals of Animalism could be
