For example, Rikki Tikki was loyal to the family and protected them, without anthropomorphism we would not know why he had been loyal to them. Rikki Tikki felt hatred toward nag and nagaina for being cruel and saved the family from their deadly bite (para 56 and 97). This demonstrates that Rikki Tikki’s feeling of gratitude and hatred is a human emotion which is anthropomorphism. The author uses the anthropomorphism to show how Rikki felt towards Nag and Nagaina and to connect it to the theme of loyalty. In addition, Rikki Tikki had saved the family because he felt he owed them which is a human emotion. The family had saved him and took him in and in return he protected them and was loyal to them.(para 4). This means that Rikki felt as if he owed them and in turn was loyal, which animals can not feel so it is anthropomorphism. Because he felt he owed them he was loyal and took a risk by saving them from Nag and Nagaina, which further proves the theme of loyalty. In conclusion, the author uses anthropomorphism this story to help show the theme, loyalty can cause you to take a chance for those you care
