World known business owner, Lucinda Grubb has created a chain of innovation hubs called, The KMR, across Canada and the US specifically tailored for university students interested in starting their own business. Though Grubb, now owns the successful business, Decco Inc, with 500 offices opened up across the world; she struggled as a young entrepreneur to persuade investors to fund her idea and had a limited access to resources and advice. Since Grubb, has first hand experience on just how difficult starting a business can be she has created these hubs in order to supply entrepreneurs with easy access to all the resources that are essential for a business to have. The KMR acts as an incubator in which budding entrepreneurs can navigate complex regulations, institutions, and identify sources of capital. They also have access to networks, mentors, and supportive peers. Grubb’s main idea for TheKMR was to reduce costs of starting up for students as they are often in debt after graduating.
