Luke Bryan has worked over the years to become the successful country artist he is today. He grew up working on his father’s peanut farm, but in his early teens, he decided that he wanted to have a career in music (Luke Bryan Biography 1). Luke began writing songs with the help from others, which benefited him in the long run since many of his songs and albums have made it on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 charts (Luke Bryan Biography 1; Demings Award Section). Travis Tritt recorded one of Luke’s songs on his album My Honky Tonk History in 2004 (Luke Bryan Newsmaker 4). Before he came out with an album of his own, he married Caroline Boyer in 2006 (Luke Bryan & Wife 1). Luke and Caroline have two sons, Thomas and Tatum (Luke Bryan Newsmaker 6). In 2008, two of his songs on the album made it on the Billboard Hot 100 (Deming Award Section). “All My Friends Say” made it to number 59, while “Country Man” hit number 74 (Deming Award Section). Due to his success with "We Rode In Trucks" and "Country Man", he toured as opening acts for Kenny Chesney and Dierks Bentley in 2008 (Luke Bryan Newsmaker 12). He came out with his second album in 2009, called Doin’ My Thing, and over half a million copies were sold (Silva 14). “Rain Is a Good Thing” reached number one on the Billboard country charts when Doin ' My Thing was released (Silva 14). Doin’ My Thing reached sixth on the Billboard 200 the year it came out (Deming Award Section).
