He wanted to find something else to sell so he began selling tacos out of the side window. Before Taco Bell, he opened Bell’s drive in and Taco Tia. (“Taco Bell History”). The first Taco Bell restaurant to open was in Downey, CA. In 1967 the 100th Taco Bell opens. In 1978 Glen sold 868 Taco Bell restaurants to Pepsico. (“Taco Bell History”).
