Lydia: Breaking news! Recently the music festival conductor Enrico Mantoli was found dead in the middle of the night at the corner of Piney and the highway. Our intern George is at the murder site interviewing one of the suspects of the murder, Virgil Tibbs. George: I am with one of the main suspects, Virgil Tibbs and Chief Gillespie. I will be asking him some questions about what happened night. Where were you last night? V.T: I was waiting for the train at night to go home (?) when i was assaulted by Officer Woods. George: Cheif, why would you think Tibbs’ would need to kill Mantoli. B.G: This coloured man obviously murdered the man to take his money. He saw the opportunity and took it. George: Virgil, how do you feel about being accused for this murder? V.T: I knew that this town was racist and prejudice. However, I did not expect to be arrested for a murder i did not commit. I feel as though i am put in this situation because of my skin color. B.G: You are definitely not a police officer. Woods, Who do you think is guilty for the murder? S.W: At first I thought that it was Mr. Tibbs, but i let local stereotypes get the best of me.
