My parents used to work for our local government, and our house located on a street that just across the government official building. During past 20 years, I saw how my father dedicated to increase the school access for students from low-income families; I witnessed several times that people brought their written petition, kneeling in front of government building to get governors attention; I heard of how people appreciated governors’ work, but I had also known how much people hate corruption and the abuse of power. Deeply influenced by my parents and the growing environment, I am interested in public policy and politics since my childhood. I wish I can work for the government, contributing my efforts to the justice and equality, and protecting and fighting rights for minority people. A master degree of Public Administration would definitely help me achieve my goal, and I would love to be considered for the admission of MPA in Penn State University. …show more content…
It is truly encouraging when people think highly of my communications and interpersonal skills, boosting my confidence that I will effectively connect with the professors and fellow students at Penn State University. I have enjoyed participating in debates since high school, not for the sake of debating itself, but for the art of communication. Thinking back on how I managed to win so many awards in nationwide and even international debate competition, I always think it is not because of my debating style, but my genuine respect for people, empathetic listening, out-of-box thinking and communicating skills.
