The Tragedy of Macbeth is a well known story that revolves around the word “ambition” but this ambition isn’t always self driven by someone, but rather through the influence of someone else who maintains control of the situation. The story is about a man whose desire to be the king and have power leads to the murders of those who might stand in his way. Throughout the story we see many characters who play major parts in how one event follows another, and how some characters seem to completely have control of the events in the story. Although in Macbeth the Three Sisters and Macbeth exhibit some control over the events, Lady Macbeth has the most responsibility.
The witches never said he would become king though. Macbeth started to plan out a way he could become king soon. His plans consisted of multiple lies. Macbeth was going to kill King Duncan. He was going to get away with it by getting the guards drunk and blaming it on them.
There are many factors that determine how people behave in their daily lives. We are run by a number of rules and regulations that influence the way we behave, talk and live. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding shows that without the influence of a civilized society and law and order, people’s characteristics can change drastically. Similarly in Macbeth, Shakespeare represents the loss of morality of a leader as his hunger for power clouds his judgement. Both pieces of literature present how both writers view the breakdown of morality through the breakdown of civil behaviour.

Initially, Shakespeare commences with repetition of the word “tomorrow” thrice to accentuate the hopeless future Macbeth perceives.

Both of them realize the troubles that come with killing Banquo, and recognize that troubles follow; his son Fleance can still cease the prophecy. The reader is able to see this through Macbeth’s contemplation on whether or not he should kill Duncan, Lady Macbeth's lust for power and Macbeth’s final yet selfish decision. As a child, my papa would always tell me that I would do great in life and advance to be better than the rest of my family. I thought of ways I could actually make that possible. During school, if I forgot to do an assignment or struggled during a test or quiz, my first thought was to cheat. The reason of that is because if I forgot to do my work and did not know the information for a test, what other way was I supposed to make a well enough grade to be the best in my family. I can relate my situation to Macbeth’s internal conflict.
