A boy likes to help people when they need some. The boy finds someone to help because they were struggling with carrying a heavy item. The boy gets done helping and finally makes it home. When he gets home, his mom chews him out for helping someone instead of making it home. The boy’s story shows the theme of fair is foul and foul is fair. Another example of the theme would be Macbeth. Macbeth has many themes present, but the theme of fair is foul and foul is fair makes the position as the main theme. The main theme shows up in act one, scene seven. The scene was a conversation between Lady Macbeth and Macbeth, with Lady Macbeth saying “ What beast was’t then that made you break this enterprise to me?/ When you durst do it, then you were a man;” (lines 48-49). The conversation Lady Macbeth and Macbeth had talked about the letter Macbeth wrote her, plus the death of King Duncan. The text shows the theme by Lady Macbeth saying that Macbeth breaking the news of his fate to her and Macbeth not wanting to kill King Duncan equals right being wrong. Macbeth goes to see the three witches again for an update on his fate and the witches say him what he asked for. For the evidence, the text states, “ Show his eyes and grieve his heart!/ Come like shadows, so depart!/ Thou art too like the spirit of Banquo. Down!/ … Filthy hags,/ Why do you show me this?” ( lines 110-116). Macbeth calls out for the witches to show his fate and future, but the witches told him that he saw enough. Next, Macbeth threatened the witches causing them to go ahead and showing the future. Macbeth sees what the future had in store and thens cursed the three witches for showing him what he wanted. Fair is foul shows here because the witches did what Macbeth wanted them to do, but Macbeth then cursed them for showing him even though he asked for the future.
