At the beginning of the story, we see that Macbeth is described as a “nice person” later on we find out he was not as his obsession led to his downfall. The Tragedy of Macbeth is written by William Shakespeare. It follows the main character Macbeth, a Scottish nobleman and a devoted general to King Duncan who meets with three witches who predict he will become king. This mentally messed with Macbeth as the witches got the idea stuck to his head he was consumed by it. This prophecy deeply affects his decisions throughout the story. Which also makes him delusional that he's immortal and can not be killed by men. Macbeth was delusional ever since the witches mentioned the prophecy. For this reason, he was easily manipulated by his wife Lady Macbeth; she knew what she had to do to become queen. In addition, this gave Macbeth the idea of taking the throne for himself which made him overpowered.
Macbeth is obsessed with having power over others. He likes the feeling of people fearing him even though he was scared of Banquo since the prophecy said that Banquo will be greater than him.
