A child can represent many things, such as happiness, youth, and the future. While on the other hand, being called a child can be used as an insult. In “The Tragedy of Macbeth” a child represents things more related to innocence. There is also, gullibility and little morality represented in “The Tragedy of Macbeth”. Although, Macbeth shows characteristics of a child throughout the story he becomes less innocent and starts making his own decision. In the story Macbeth does not have a child and this drives him to leave a legacy for himself.
When you are a child you are most vulnerable. You are defenseless, weak, and easily manipulated. Macbeth was very gullible when the three witches told him prophecies of his future. At first he was not sure if the three witches were trustworthy, but eventually he believed them. After he heard that he became the Thane of Cawdor, he believed he should do everything he can to make sure he becomes King of Scotland. This meant that he had to figure a way to take Duncan’s place and his sons. Macbeth was very uncertain about killing Duncan, because Macbeth knew it was a …show more content…

Children live in a fantasy world and believe the world is good. Children are like this because they have not had any experiences to change their opinions. Although, Macbeth was an adult, he was still innocent. Innocence can mean many things, but in “The Tragedy of Macbeth” it means to be naive and not guilty of crime. When Macbeth killed Duncan he lost his innocence almost instantly. This was shown when Macbeth saw a child and he heard voices saying “Macbeth shall sleep no more”. Macbeth hear this because the voices are implying that he is no longer innocent and the innocent cannot sleep. Although Lady Macbeth did not commit the crime of killing Duncan, she convinced Macbeth to kill Duncan and came up with the plan.
