A Play that was written back when technology was not yet created can be found difficult to interpret in the modern days, therefore, each modern’s days movie producers may interpret it in their own way. The 1978 movie version of Macbeth demonstrates how a movie can be different and similar from its original play. The staging of the movie Macbeth is very different from the stage direction of the play Macbeth. This is clearly seen in the appearance of the three witches in the very first act, the banquet part, and the last visit of Macbeth to the witches. The long screaming of the witches as King Duncan prayed in the movie Macbeth shows how the appearance of the three witches is very different from the play Macbeth. Another difference is when Macbeth first met the witches, the movie Macbeth shows that Macbeth was pointing his sword at the witches neck as he questioned them about their prophesy. While in the play Macbeth, macbeth was both afraid and surprised as he listened to the witches’ prophesy. The way that they set up the banquet in the movie Macbeth is way too different than how the lines in the play Macbeth explain it in Act III. In the banquet Lady Macbeth said, “That is not often vouch'd, while 'tis a-making,'Tis given with welcome: to feed were best at home.” From thence the sauce to meat is ceremony”(Act III, 4). That line of Lady Macbeth describes what exactly a banquet is. A banquet is is a large meal or feast, complete with main courses and desserts, often served with ad libitum alcoholic beverages, such as wine or beer. But in movie Macbeth, they show Macbeth as king is serving only a big cup of drink to all the guests. There wasn’t any food served, and Macbeth weren’t supposed to be serving a drink.
