Tiago Gonzalez 4/26/24 Literary Analysis Shakespeare’s Very Own Pong Krell In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Pong Krell was a Jedi stationed in Umbara. He was leading his company throughout the invasion, but his lust for power caused him to fall to the dark side, leading him to kill and fool his troopers. In the end, his once-loyal troopers realized Krell’s evil intentions, and they stormed his quarters and executed him. In many ways, this relates to the Tragedy of Macbeth by William Shakespeare. Once the titular character gets a taste of power and succumbs to his greed, he turns against those he was once loyal to, as Krell did, in order to follow his own selfish pursuit of the crown. In this, Macbeth is talking about how he knows ambition is wrong and when you chase ambition normally more problems arise after, this is helping solidify his morals even more. Macbeth before the tragedy was a loyal, considerate man to others around him. When the story begins, Macbeth indeed has natural values and morals that he follows daily. This connects back to the thesis because although to begin the story Macbeth had natural values and morals when he went after the unruly ambition of his future prophecy he lost his way. Through the supernatural phenomena occurring in the world of the play, Shakespeare shows how Macbeth's ambition and personal goals impact the country of Scotland in addition to himself. In this quote, the Owl symbolizes Macbeth, in this case, taking advantage of the trust he had with the king.“Even like the deed that’s done. On Tuesday last, “A falcon, tow’ring in her pride of place, was by a mousing owl hawked at and killed” (2.4.14-16). This proves my claim because the owl symbolizes how he used the trust that he had with Duncan against him and shows that he is willing to do what it takes to get where he wants. This strengthens my thesis because you can already see him losing one of his values, loyalty.
