The actions of the character in Macbeth by William Shakespeare can be displayed in a variety of styles. First performed in 1606, depicting a dramatized destruction of physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those whom seek authority for its own purpose. Throughout this essay it is a view of the characteristics that make up Macbeth and why he chose the journey he did. Despite some of the evil qualities portrayed Macbeth is a tragic hero because Macbeth’s character shows the qualities of a tragic hero though his strong ambition and tragic demise.

Macbeth finds out and wants them executed. He also wants to take out Banquo and his sons due to the prophecies from the witches. He hires three murderers to kill Banquo and his son Fleance. They kill Banquo but Fleance escapes. Macbeth is outraged when he hears this. He speaks: “Then comes my fit again; I had else been perfect, whole as the marble, founded as the rock, as broad and general as the casing air. “But now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, and bound in to saucy doubts and fears. But Banquo's safe?” (A 3, S 4, 21) To add to Macbeth's outrage, He sees the ghost of Banquo. Everyone is oblivious to the sight of Banquo Macbeth feels it is the others manipulating his mind. Macbeth says “Which of you have done this?” and “Thou canst not say I did it; never shake thy gory locks at me.” (A 3, S 4, 48). He becomes angered and starts to raise his voice to all in the room. Lady Macbeth sees the tension growing stronger and asks all guests to go home. Macbeth's decline is clearly evident now. He thought nothing of killing Duncan nor of Banquo.
