Macbeth during lines 36-38 decides his fate. He has two options kill himself or get killed. He decides he won’t kill himself similar to the Romans. He decides this because he believes wounds on his enemies are better than wounds on himself. “Whiles I see lives, the gashes Do better upon them.”

The play MacBeth has many themes throughout it. The theme I picked out is that your desire’s can blind your loyalty. This theme is expressed and expanded upon through the entire play, from MacBeth planning to kill King Duncan, to his death at the end because of the blind decisions he made. In this essay I will expand on this by showing how desires blinded the loyalty of MacBeth and Lady MacBeth in this play. From practically the start of the play, MacBeth is becoming corrupt when the weird sisters say he shall be “Thane of Glamis,” (1.1) which he already is, and “Thane of Cawdor,” (1.1) which a messenger is on the way to tell him he is, “Thou shalt be KIng” (1.1) which is very suprised at and he starts to become blinded to his loyalty to the KIng, Duncan.

In the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare, Shakespeare demonstrates this nature through Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. In Shakespeare’s play Macbeth, the protagonist self-destructs because of his external forces as well as his own poor choices. An external force that influenced Macbeth includes Lady Macbeth’s strong goals, which she forced on her husband. Additionally, the witches impacted Macbeth’s choices by offering him their tricky prophecies. The blind greed that took over Macbeth’s life also impacted his choices.
Macbeth’s impatience for power leads to drastic actions. He murders the king in the belief that “this blow might be the be-all and end-all” (1.7.5). This assassination could never “trammel up the consequence” (1.7.2-3), as Macbeth believes, but only leads to more trouble. Although Macbeth seizes the throne, Macbeth had to betray his loyalty to the king whose “virtues will plead like angels” (1.7.18-19), and his morality has paid the price. Macbeth has now lost all sense of what honor is by using such dishonest ways to become king.
From honored soldier to murderous tyrant, Macbeth killed his way into power. He was informed of his “destiny” and stopped at nothing to achieve it. He had multiple chances to rethink his actions. He didn 't however, he kept on his march to power leaving only himself to blame. Macbeth is the only one to blame for his actions and ultimately, his death.
Power can not only bring ambitious people honors, but also make them lose everything. In the play, Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, it demonstrates that the immoral power influences the life of Macbeth dramatically. Macbeth’s abuse of power destroys his relationship with his cousin, friend, and wife, which shows that Macbeth’s wild ambition causes him to be isolated. Macbeth’s abuse of power destroys his relationship with his cousin, Duncan.
