Machiavelli and Castiglione bring forth their interpretations of what virtues a women should possess in order to be an effective leader. Basically, describing what women should be. In Castiglione's writing, it is stated by signor Gaspare that "...in the way people sometimes hanker after things that are impossible and miraculous, rather than explain them you (Magnifico) have wished them into existence." This quote stands true respectively for both writers as both have created idealisms that are of perfection. Never the less, both allow the role for imperfection as well. Again in the excerpt from Castiglione's work where Magnifico states "...because man is more robust, more quickly agile and more able to endure toil..." clearly demonstrates imperfections …show more content…

For example, if a women is involved in an incident where it might affect her image as a leader she must lie in order to not get into any altercations. Machiavelli also talks about a women’s appearance "...it is not necessary actually to have all the above-mentioned qualities, but it is very necessary to appear to have them". These certain qualities that he discusses are a vital part of an effective women leader though she might not really have each quality she must appear as though she did. I believe he thinks a women should show she has these qualities so that she doesn’t show weakness. This way people will have no doubt about her role as a leader. When being able to demonstrate having these qualities followers of her will listen and take everything she says seriously because people will feel she is capable of playing a role as a leader to both men and women. On the other hand, Mangnifico speaks on how a women needs to know what role to play as a leader. Meaning when a women should speak about topics that are appropriate to her such as women rights. Mangnifico also stands behind the notion that a women needs to be able to take action when needed and not stand
