Niccolo Machiavelli was an in Italian Philosopher, historian, diplomat, and war strategist. He was born in Florence Italy in 1469. His mother’s name was Bartolomea di Stefano Nelli and his father’s name was Bernado di Niccolo. He was the youngest of three children. Machiavelli was born during very hectic era where countries such as Spain and the Holy Roman Empire were battling for regional control. Italy was split into four rival states and were being ruled by stronger governments in Europe. These circumstances possibly could have influenced the path that he chose in life.

There's not much information on Machiavelli’s younger childhood. He was born in Florence Italy, 1469 on May 3, while France was invading Italy. He had a one brother named Totto Machiavelli and two sisters named Spring and Margherita. Machiavelli’s education started at the age of 7. It is said the he gained experience from working with a Florentine banker. He also love to read books. By the age of 29 he became chancellor. As a chancellor he was to carry out policy decisions for others, writing diplomatic letters, reading and writing reports and taking notes. He also went on several diplomatic missions. Four were in france and two were in rome. Four years later he married Marietta Corsini and had four sons and two daughters. Then by 1510 because of his Roman history, he was able to organize a militia of the Florence
