He was the tenth prime minister of Canada. During the 21 years that he served as Prime Minister, the longest ever served in history, Mackenzie faced lots of hard decisions. Although Mackenzie had limited fans, he proved himself as an effective leader socially, nationally, and through the very dark times of war. Mackenzie made lots of important allies during the war, and quite possibly prevented Canada from breaking out into a civil war. He would go find prostitutes and persuade them to give in their work and turn to God as he volunteered once a week at the children’s hospital.
Peacekeeping is an important attribute to Canadian identity. To endorse peace, the Canadian Peace Congress was created in 1949. It advocated for the ban of nuclear weapons and arms race particularly during 1970-1980s. Furthermore, Canada was involved in United Nations since 1945. An important figure in peacekeeping of Canada was Lester B. Pearson, a Canadian prime minister who reigned from 1963 to 1968.
It figuratively put Canada on the map as a world power. Canada has always had a positive reputation in the global community. This can be credited to the past World Wars. At that time, Canada was shown to be a respectable nation and a formidable ally. However, after the CanadArm, Canada was also considered to be an intellectual world power, and was known as a revered country in aerospace technology.
Pierre Trudeau is definitely one of Canada’s most successful Prime Ministers. He was able to bring Canada together by implementing the Official Language Act resolving the October Crisis and repatriating, creating Canadian Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedom. Pierre Trudeau was born in Montreal on October 18, 1919. He was raised in a wealthy Montreal suburb of Outremont. As he growing up he and his sibling spoke both French and English.
Finally, whilst Macdonald was pro-British and encouraged support from Britain, Mackenzie wanted to make Canada an independent country, and he wanted to remove Britain completely out of the equation. Despite Mackenzie’s significant contributions, I believe that Macdonald had better plans to making Canada what it is today. Alexander Mackenzie, being a Liberal, wanted to make Canada a more independent country and he had his own plans of doing so. First of all, he sought free trade with the USA, who was an enemy to Britain at the time due to the War of 1812. In addition, he created the Royal Military College, which meant that Canada can now have its own military officers.

Considering he served for twenty-three year and he served as the longest standing Canadian PM through the great depression and a world war, he made few mistakes mostly not recognizing and acting during the depression. William Lyon Mackenzie King was a semi-successful prime minister considering the economic and military conflict that was present in Canada at the time of his reign. He had a close friendship with the American prime minister, Franklin Roosevelt ultimately helping the Canadian and british war effort.
Today, Canada is seen as a multicultural and peaceful nation that has evolved over the course of history. This great nation would never have been possible without the impact that former Prime Minister, Lester B. Pearson left on this country. Before becoming the Prime Minister, King resolved labor strikes peacefully and introduced the Industrial Investigation Act during the time he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Labor. This act allowed a closer inspection of workers’ conditions and aimed to prevent exploitation of workers in the future. Seeing their income secured, Canadian workers had more motivation to work and the community carried on its interactions peacefully. Secondly, in the later stage of Canada’s development, King’s adoption of various programs sought to give Canadians more social security.
Humans cannot resist the allure of theorizing what the future will bring. Some may view it through rose-colored glasses, hoping for some type of utopia. Others may have a pessimistic view of the future of mankind, hypothesizing when the next world war will take place.
