Abstract
The CJD (Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) is a fatal and irredeemable neurological human disease. It is a Mad Cow Disease found in humans. It is thought to originate from the mutation of normal prion protein. This article discusses the brief history of Mad Cow disease, some places in which the Mad Cow disease has been identified, the transmission of Mad Cow to humans. It also addresses the signs, symptoms, causes and treatments of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and it concludes with the diagnosis, probable cause of CJD and measures which people should exercise to prevent the spread of the Mad Cow disease in humans.

In August 2002, the vCJD case was discovered in Canada when a Canadian man who acquired the disease in the Britain passed way. In December 2003, the first case BSE infection was reported in Washington State when a cow tested positive for Bovine Spongiform Encepcephalopathy. The Creutzfeldt-Jakob-Disease was first discovered in Texas in June 2005 making the first case of CJD U.S. In March 2006, another case of Mad Cow Disease was reported in U.S, Alabama by the USD. The contaminated beef foodstuffs comprise of the tissues from the CNS (Central Nervous System) like the brain and spinal cord of cattle suffering from Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy. People are infected with vCJD when they eat beef products infected with Mad Cow Disease. The Mad cow Disease in humans (vCJD) damages the human spinal cords and the brain. Studies indicate that there is no scientific evidence that relate eating muscle meals from the grounded beef or from consuming milk products. Research shows that sheep in their early stages of the development of mad cow disease can pass to other sheep through the blood transfusion. However, there is no evidence that indicates that transferring blood from people suffering from vCJD to the recipients causes the mad cow disease in humans. Though, there is no discovery that have been made that relate blood transfusion and vCJD in humans there is strict restrictions of the use of blood from blood suffering from mad cow disease. For example, Britain Blood Banks, have in place precautions that prevent infections of the blood supplies with the vCJD. The restrictions encompass; filtering the white blood cells that might contain the disease and obtaining blood plasma from countries that there are no outbreak cases of the Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. The research conducted by the Britain’s Health Department to determine whether
