Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you lived in some other place in the world? Would it be easier to live there or harder? Depending on where you live is a big part of who you are. The thing is, for some it is really easy to be you, but something as simple as what color your skin is can change how you choose to express who you really are. The good thing is there are people like Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, who were willing to fight for you. Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela were both great fighters for human rights. Both of these people fought for their countries and helped them fight for what they believe in. In The Eulogy for Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela’s autobiography, we see the differences these two leaders made in the lives of their people, and many others. Both the authors of Long Walk to Freedom and Eulogy of Mahatma Gandhi think that their subjects did a good job sticking up for human rights, but Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela does a better job because it is easier to understand and follow along with. …show more content…
At some points throughout Gandhi’s adventure he suffered tremendously, but he never lost his smile or spoke a harsh word to anyone. In paragraph 2 of Eulogy for Mahatma Gandhi it says, “Yet ultimately things happened which no doubt made him suffer tremendously, though his tender face never lost its smile and he never spoke a harsh word to anyone.” Gandhi was also a big part of many people’s lives, once he had died there was desolate and forlorn all over India. In paragraph 5 Nehru states, “He has gone, and all over India there is a feeling of having been left desolate and forlorn. All of us sense that feeling, and I do not know when we shall be able to get rid of it.” Both of these statements show that Gandhi helped those who were suffering no matter what he
