Over the course of the book, Animal Farm by George Orwell, major events correspond to major events that occurred during the real Russian Revolution. There are more than twelve major events that took place in Animal Farm and correspond to the Russian Revolution. The most important events in Animal Farm show the start of the revolution, the exchange of powers, the cruelty to the workers, and the pigs transforming into humans. The beginning of Animal Farm shows Old Major’s spark of revolution followed by the removal of Jones’s tyranny, the pigs running the farm and the Battle of Cowshed. Old Major’s Speech represents Karl Marx’s “The Communist Manifesto”. Both of these revolutions occurred at a time when the governments were highly disliked and not doing their jobs the way they should have.
