A major theme in Jack London's classic Call Of The Wild is that life is a quest for one's true self. ( Identity ) which buck must undertake and achieve throughout the book. Have you looked somewhere to find yourself. DONT! Look within. At the beginning of the book buck how to deal with survival, safety, and security halfway through his quest. First Buck learns Survival. For example the law of club, with the man in the red sweater. He learned that if you can kill or get it on the second try to just stop. Since he learned that he can't kill the second or first time, he survives and can continue his quest. Second Buck learns safety. For instance he learns the law of fang, if u fall down you die. If you fall the pack of dogs will eat you.
