Actually, National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States came up with five principles for the development of sustainable heritage tourism, they are Cooperation, Find the fit, Make sites and Programs Come Alive, Focus on Quality and Authenticity and Preserve and Protect respectively. Developing cooperation is to balance the demands of different roles in the society about heritage tourism, and enable everyone to shoulder their own duty of developing and protecting heritage. This point is rewarding not just for the heritage sites, but also for local communities. For example, the organization named TellTale in the UK supports local residents near heritage sites to tell their own stories about heritage and introduce their tradition way of life to visitors. TellTale gives some interpreting skills for local people and provides opportunity for local residents and visitors to communicate with each other about heritage and its stories in an appropriate situation.
