Manifest destiny in the United States is the belief that land from sea to shining sea was theirs for the taking. Manifest Destiny was necessary for the development and betterment of the United States. Under Presidents Andrew Jackson and James K. Polk it was implemented in the highest degree. Although many did die in fight for the land, it was still detrimental for the strengthening and blossoming of the country. President Andrew Jackson was implemented manifest destiny in his campaign via the Indian Removal Act. Indians were removed from the fertile land they lived on, to new, untouched lands.
