Julius Caesar a great written playwright by William Shakespeare. In Julius Caesar there has been manipulation throughout the story. Manipulation is defined as the state of being manipulated and the act of practice of manipulating. Some characters in the story uses manipulation against others. Throughout the story characters involvement this leads to betrayals, enemies, and confusion. Therefore there are three instances of manipulation in Julius Caesar. To start, with the first example is when Cassius is trying to get Brutus to join the conspiracy. He was planning to manipulate Brutus. Cassius says, “Caesar has a grudge against me, but he likes Brutus If I were Brutus and he were Cassius he wouldn’t play his tricks on me.” (Shakespeare 1. …show more content…

He makes a speech at Caesar funeral. Antony keeps referring Brutus to an “honorable man”. Antony says, “I come here, by permission of Brutus and the others-for Brutus is an honorable man; so are they all honorable men-to speak at Caesar’s funeral.” (Shakespeare 3. 2. 82-86.). Now Antony is trying to get the crowd to turn against the conspiracy not knowing that Antony was part of it too. He wanted them to believe that he is right by reading Caesar will. He then says that, “here’s a document, with Caesar’s seal on it. I found it in his bedroom.” (Shakespeare 3.2 125-126). Antony then reads Caesar will like the crowd want him to. The crowd listens. At last, Antony manipulating the crowd is the last of the three instances of manipulation in Julius Caesar. In Conclusion, the three instances of manipulation were Cassius manipulating Brutus, Decius manipulating Caesar, and Mark Antony manipulating the crowd. Cassius manipulated Brutus to join the conspiracy. Decius tricks Caesar into going to the Senate by saying things that Caesar didn’t like. Antony uses the crowd to turn against the conspiracy. As a result of all of that, manipulation should never be use against other people because it can hurt the manipulators to.
