This essay will comprehensively explain how people's values and perceptions of Human Trafficking have led to their responses including; Trafficking gang - Mara Salvatrucha, Victim - Timea and Campaign group - The Truth Isn't Sexy. I will address both positive and negative impacts of personal experiences by using evidence and real life stories to support my arguments. MS13 gets the majority of their income from smuggling and human trafficking where middle and high school students are the most targeted. "We're talking about money here. We think of them as dollars and cents.” Globally, the average cost of a slave is $90.It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year. Of that number, $15.5 billion is made in industrialized countries. It is shown that Mara Salvatrucha clearly has very little respect for human rights and consider their victims to be commodities with an economic value, as human trafficking is considered to be very profitable and relatively low risk. This is due to the ability to sell a person for sex numerous times as compared to drugs or guns which can only be sold once and then they are gone completely. Timea was one of over 800,000 people who are trafficked annually across international borders each year. She managed to escape after three and a half months of being a victim of human trafficking. When Timea, first tried to escape she went to the police were help just to find out that they were corrupt as they raped her before sending her to the cells. Timea has a very strong view towards human trafficking because of how she was treated and the emotions and feelings she has because of this horrific experience. “..threats are daily and you're just afraid of everything, noises.. other people.” Her perspective towards the issue is very negative which has been shaped by her personal experience of being forced into human trafficking. Through her terrifying experience, she had her human rights removed from her and was treated like an object rather than a person. This strong perspective against human trafficking has caused her to form a social campaign group called ‘Walk with me’ which has helped a lot of victims escape the trap of human trafficking. Walk with me aims to rescue and restore the dignity, freedom and well being of human trafficked victims, by providing distinctive, coordinated and comprehensive immediate victim services.They want to create a more sustainable and promising future for trafficked victims as Timea herself is stuck with the
