“Wandering Work”: I think the work that means the most to me at this point in my life is Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood. I have always had this motto in reading books: only read books in a series so as to see how the character develops and how the plotline develops along with him/her.
Ever since I started high school I started quite enjoying reading school books, but none have resonated with me as much as Alias Grace did when I read it in AP literature. Alias Grace was the only book ever to still keep wandering around my head even long after I finished reading it. There are so many reasons that contribute to its lasting effect on me. For example, my favorites include: “The small details of life often hide a great significance,” “If we were all on trial for our thoughts, we would all be hanged,” “A prison does not only lock its inmates inside, it keeps all others out. Her strongest prison is of her own construction,” “I am certain that a Sewing Machine would relieve as much human suffering as a hundred Lunatic Asylums, and possibly a good deal more.” And the reason I loved these quotes so much is because they are relate so much to reality.
