On April 21, 2017, I interviewed one of the Burbank High School Spanish teacher name Mr. Tito Proano. The reason I interview him about mariachi was because he writes and sing Spanish and English music’s and knows about mariachi music too. Instead of singing and writing songs, he plays guitar and drums. Also, he likes to Latin American, English, and rock and roll music. He talked about the mariachi history, root and instrument. He said that the mariachi begins in the 19th century and the root of mariachi music is that they celebrated their struggles and joy through the music. Also, in a mariachi band, everyone should sing because there is not any leader. According to him, mariachi song play in birthday and saint days such as weddings, holidays and funerals because it is a traditional song. I asked him about his work that what mariachi music style you like to write a song? He answered me that I like sad songs of the mariachi music and want to write some sad songs too. He stated that he has 2 famous artists such as Vicente de Fernandez, who is known as a King of Ranchera and Luis Miguel, who is a Latin Americans most successful artist in history. As we were talking about the ceremonies, he started to explain what quinceaneras mean and I ask this question that the quinces are it only for girls or boys too because I really like to know more information’s and also curious too so he answered that it's only for a girl because at age 15 they become adult. Also, he explained to me about the dresses and dancers too. He said that mariachi dance is a couple dance and dancers have special clothes, for example, women should wear long dress and men should wear Mexican Charro suit because it is the part of the show and also it is their tradition to wear
