The two texts respectively written by Marilyn Manson and William F. Jasper discuss the motive and reasons for the act of the two gunmen from the Columbine Highs school scenario. They represent different point of views and opinions. While William F. Jasper sees one factor which affected the two young men to do violent acts Marilyn Manson finds a different explanation and directly finds William F. Jasper’s view wrong. William F. Jasper thinks that the Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold acts of violence were provoked by the subculture created and affected by Marilyn Manson. His point of view states that Marilyn Manson is a self-proclaimed ‘’minister’’ in the church of Satan.
