Around 150 years ago, humans started releasing fossil fuels into the atmosphere during the industrial revolution. The ocean takes up a quarter of the gas that surrounds earth by absorbing the CO2 we put in our atmosphere. Scientist thought the ocean was a great resource for getting rid of these CO2 gases in the atmosphere; however, they didn’t know how much these gases where destroying our great ocean. NOVA’s documentary presents, Lethal Seas, a documentary of the destruction of our vast ocean, concentrating on the American northwest coast, Papua New Guinea among the volcanic islands of Milne Bay, and Aurora Australis. The documentary dresses the issue of rising acidity levels in the ocean and its effects.
Sarah Freeman’s article in The Ethicalist explains the negative effects humans have on the ocean. These negative effects include plastic pollution, global warming, and worst of all, overfishing. Overfishing occurs when a fish species is wild caught faster than it can reproduce. This leads to fewer fish in the ocean, meaning less marine biodiversity (Freeman). After Freeman spends most of her article explaining how the oceans are suffering, she then starts talking about what can be done to prevent a baren sea.
Dillard states, “I want them to think about the fact all of this is in the ocean, and I want them to think about the fact it’s not going away” (Newsminer 2015). One person commented on McKenzie’s article, “Education on this subject is the only way to help diminish marine debris, as many people are unaware of the scope of this issue.” This commenter obviously understood what McKenzie was trying to create, awareness not just art. Although this art will never be able to clean all the debris that have entered our oceans it is a wonderful way to raise education that is interactive and catches peoples eyes in a positive manner and may help decrease further marine

These organisms provide nutrients for other organisms, mainly zooplankton such as krill and copepods. The zooplankton, in turn, provide nutrients for other low-trophic-level organisms, such as fish and baleen whales. This chain is thought to have two main effects on animal aggregations: (1) the fecal plumes are thought to attract large numbers of zooplankton which, in turn, attract large numbers of higher level organisms and (2) this aggregation of prey animals are thought to reinforce aggregating behavior and cooperative foraging in
A long time ago there was a huge toy spill near the coast of Florida. They were shipping crates full of rubber ducks to Australia for a toy company. The boat had tipped over and all the toys spilled out into the ocean. Also since the boat was carrying rubber ducks that floats, you could see a giant yellow spot floating in the ocean. The rubber ducks were being pushed by the Gulf Stream that connected to the North Atlantic Current.
Discovery is important as it inspires people to view life in a new light and gain knowledge about not just themselves, but the world around them. This holds especially true “from going to the place that looks wrong and stupid and foolish.” These “real” discoveries often require a shift in one 's personal perspectives which creates a new metaphorical lens through which individuals ' understand and see the world and themselves. The play Away by Michael Gow (1986), and the poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost (1922) explore the notion that "real discoveries come from chaos, from going to the place that looks wrong and stupid and foolish. " This can be seen through the use of various dramatic, literary and poetic
Sea ice is important to subsistence hunting for several reasons. In the winter, the thick ice becomes a road for hunters to travel on. In addition, the ice prevents the waves from becoming too strong, making boating easier. Also, animals such as walruses and seals are usually found near ice, which means that hunters do not have to go so far out to find them.
Clumping of debris in the ocean is one of the biggest problems of the world, as it is far from people, no one takes it seriously. So, this research paper is dedicated to such problem as
“Our Oceans Are Turning into Plastic… Are We” “Our Oceans Are Turning into Plastic… Are We?” written by Susan Casey makes valid points about humans ruining our land we all call home. Captain Charles Moore traveled the sea more than he traveled on land.
Climate The Canadian Arctic is one of the extremely coldest climates known on Earth with the temperature of -28°C and -70°C during winter and in summer around 12°C which makes it very hard to survive unless you have appropriate shelter to keep you warm in freezing cold temperature. They had to discover a natural way of keeping them warm under shelter, For this particular reason, people who lived in that environment were forced to accommodate themselves by building with the material they had available and survive by using the techniques of passive engineering. Structure Design and Purpose People have always been fascinated by this traditional vernacular building called Igloo which is commonly found in Canada Arctic. The inventors of this vernacular
The book I choice to read was, “Brian’s Winter”, by Gary Paulsen. This book is about Brian after the private plane he was flying in crashes in to the rugged forests of Canada. Brian went through many struggles while trying the best he could to survive in the harsh environment. Some of the biggest events in this story include when he is attacked by a bear, during the major storms and some of his questionable encounters with the wolves. If I were telling a friend about the entire story in two minutes I would say, Brian’s parents were divorced leading him to visit his father for the first time in a long time.
It is expected that global warming has far- reaching and long-lasting and often forest consequences for the earth last few years, global warming, and the gradual heating of the surface, the oceans and the atmosphere of the Earth. It was a topic of debate in the scientific community. Currently, almost all researchers is that global warming is real and is caused by human activity, primarily fuel consumption pimping carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Evidence off global warming are the rising temperatures worldwide temperature by increasing their planet 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit extreme weather is one of the many effects of global warming meanwhile is experienced in some summers hotter there. In most of the United States global warming has been experiment colder than the winters spent in change in climate can cause colder the

The ocean is nowadays undergoing numerous environmental issues that further lead to marine pollution. Marine pollution is a very serious environmental issue that most of the countries of the world encounter. Aquatic littering is considered as one of the major causes of marine environment. The misleading use of the marine environment is extremely impacting the marine life and ecosystems. Moreover, the total amount of toxins and debris discharged by human beings is incredibly increasing in today 's world.
