For my missing person cold case I chose to do Marjorie Christina Luna. Marjorie went missing on the 27th of May in the year of 1984 from her hometown Greenacres City, Florida. She was born on April 7, 1976 making her 8 years old at the time of her disappearance. Marjorie was more likely known as Christy coming from her middle name Christina. Christy was a Caucasian female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She was 4 feet tall and weighed about 60 pounds. Rambo lived next to Christy’s home with his brother, where she visited their house several times. After her disappearance both brothers were charged with molesting Christy’s 6-year-old best friend. Since then the police and also Christy’s mother have suspected Willis Rambo. A few days after his arrest for sexual battery, police searched his home and dug up his backyard. They found no physical evidence that he kidnapped or held the 8-year-old girl captive. However, Rambo is currently serving a prison sentence for molesting his two step daughters. The second considered suspect is Victor George Wonyetye. He too lived near the home of Christy in 1984 and worked at a golf course. He had moved down to Greenacres, Florida from New Hampshire earlier that year. It was reported that he had attended a party in Christy’s neighborhood the day she disappeared. He was considered a suspect because he had a criminal record that dates back to the 1960’s where he was convicted of sexual assaults among various other offenses. Shortly after Christy’s disappearance, Wonyetye moved back to New Hampshire and got a job at a body shop in a small town, where 8-year-old Tammy Lyn Belanger disappeared on her way to school around the corner from where he worked. He almost instantly became the primary suspect in that case as well, yet has never been charger due to the lack of evidence. Wonyetye was convicted in 1992 for a burglary that took place the year before. He …show more content…
She claimed to have been sexually assaulted in a park bathroom the day of Christy’s disappearance. She said that Christy came to help her and before she passed out she saw her assailant holding Christy in a headlock. The woman, as well as a friend who claimed to have witnessed the attack, worked with a sketch artist to produce images. Unfortunately, the assailant was never identified. Later on the woman’s friend stated that she doubted the story. She said that the attack did not happen on the same day Christy disappeared and that she herself was the other girl involved. The two women’s accounts are being investigated. The case was classified as a non-family abduction and is still being investigated. Foul play is suspect and the case is now being investigated as a homicide. In May of 2013, three women who disappeared as teenagers were found alive after years of captivity. Since then, Christy’s mom, Jennie Johnson, has a recommenced hope that her daughter Christy is still alive. She was quoted saying, “I’ve always imagined Christy coming home and that reunion, what that would be. That’s a dream that would be better than anything else in the world (palmbeachpost.com).” Johnson is trying to keep her spirits high, still hoping to one day she Christy alive. After almost 29 years, there has been a possible outbreak in the case. Rambo, who is currently in prison
