Mark Twain’s Life and Writings
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, widely known as Mark Twain is a world-famous Novelist in the entire field of literature. Despite of his challenging early years, through creating novels such as ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’ or ‘The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’, Mark Twain ultimately became one of the most respected writers of all-time.
Mark Twain’s early life was not smooth. He underwent numerous adversity which were he had to handle alone. However, this was also the main reason for him to achieve great success in his career. Twain was born on November 30th, 1835 in Florida, but soon moved to Hannibal, a town near the Mississippi river. Among those, most commonly accepted insistence is that he wrote his plots based on his personal experiences. For instance, when Twain wrote his most successful novels, ‘Adventures of Huckleberry Finn’, ‘Life on the Mississippi’ and ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’, the settings of these were areas around the Mississippi river. The point here is that Mark Twain used to live in Hannibal a town located next to the river. As a result, Twain was able to communicate with his readers much lively, readers could understand the story much more easily and also concentrate on the book. In addition, through writing this novels in first-person view , Mark Twain delivered the thoughts of characters directly to the readers. Naturally, when people read the books of Mark Twain, they could easily feel how the plot-figures are feeling in the story. Another perspective viewing on the main reason of Twain’s success has to do with his sense of humor. In every writings of Mark Twain, it always had a little bit of satire.
