As the characters work together with their family and friends, they form a united front against the oppressive forces relentlessly hunting them for their marrow. This collective strength not only enables them to withstand the challenges thrown their way but also increases their chances of survival in a hostile world where they are being hunted,“We were great fighters—warriors, we called ourselves and each other—and we knew these lands, so we kicked a lot of ass.”(Dimaline, 23). After Frenchie said that, it gave everyone around him a sense of hope and pride to fight for their home land and keep their tradition alive.
