Martha Carrier had been accused of practicing witchcraft. People blamed her a lot. Her crime was not witchcraft, but an independence of mind and a unsubmissive character. probably she was practicing witchcraft because she had to show her some talents in front of other people that’s could be one reason for practicing witchcraft. In this world lot’s of things happened and you can’t predict random things that came suddenly in your mind. Also her own children were coerced into testifying against their mother. Allen Toothaker testified, saying “Richard, the son of Martha Carrier, having some difference with him, pulled him down by the hair of the head”. Just because of that he blamed Martha, It’s not even her fault it’s her son who's having issues …show more content…

Just because she threatens you by words doesn’t mean you can blame someone without any proof, if your cattle would be strangely bewitched. Sometimes it can happen, but while you were dreaming about something that you been thinking about it all the time. If you follow every dream, you might get lost. There are many castles in the farm, but the people who lived there never complains about losing his cattle. If you really think you lost your cattle because you have some difference with Martha and her son then you’re totally wrong. Maybe that farmer also has some problems with Martha and her son, but he never thought of blaming other people without any specific reasons. Probably that’s why John Rogger felt that way, maybe he thinks that his cattle are more important than anything in the world. Everyone has a hard time to understand each other maybe because of that she threatens you by words but wasn't meant it at all. Sometimes we do say bad things to people that we don’t like, but after saying all those things we do realize what we’ve done. Maybe Martha does have problems with you, but didn’t bewitched your castle. I mean as I was reading through her story she dosen't like she would harm anyone with bad intention.
