Martha Stewart is a women with many talented traits. She is a businesswoman, cookbook writer, television personality and also a former professional fashion model. She is the chairman of her namesake company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. She is a true case of a rags to riches story with her immense talent and hard work. But it all came tumbling down when she was pleaded guilty on insider trading with insider trading in 2004 and had served 5 months in prison. Since prison she has started a TV show and has taken her company to greater heights and currently she is valued at over $900m. As she hailed from a humble background she started working from a very young age so that she could pay for her education and expenses. She was a very smart person and used to ace in school. She started modelling at the age of 15 and then became a professional model for Chanel and aside from it she also attended Barnard College in New York to complete her education. This modelling job also helped her in a big deal to pay for tuition in college. After completing her education she started took her first step in the business world by becoming a stockbroker and she gained this knowledge through her ex father-in-law. After only 5 years as a stockbroker she followed her passion and started a catering business which was quite successful but her major success came when she launched her first cookbook ‘Entertaining’ after which many more followed. This was just the beginning of her stardom and success she received. She started her own magazine, Martha Stewart Living in 1990 and also started her own show on CBS network. In 1997 with the help of her business partner Sharon Patrick they started a new company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSLO) which was consolidated of the various television, print and merchandising ventures related to the Martha Stewart brand.
