There are people who advocate the idea that martial arts should become part of the physical education curriculum for school children. As a parent of a school age child I am curious if this is something that I should encourage in my child’s world. Written in 2004 the article is now over 12 years old. I believe this article is very supportive of having children participate in martial arts training, also suggests it would be beneficial for juveniles who are in the criminal justice system.Reflection: This article is full of great information that Law cited from studies. The info in the article will help me show the benefits of martial arts for children. This article has strengthened my opinion on the subject. Mendenhall is expressing clear support for all juveniles to have such training and how it could be better for the individual, as well as their families and even the tax payers.Reflection: I believe this article will help me show the positive benefits as they were observed and reported in real time with the 12 participants.
