When you look or use your smartphone, do you ever wondered when was the first cell phone created or who invented the cell phone? Its crazy just to think how the technology has changed most, if not, everything that we use today. The inventor of the first cell phone is Martin Cooper, also the first to make a mobile phone call. Martin Cooper was born in December 26, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. Today he lives with 86 years of age. Martin Cooper states about his childhood:
“I'd been taking things apart and inventing things since I was a little kid …. I still have memories as a child trying to really understand how things work.” (Encyclopedia.com)

Martin Cooper has won over twenty awards and “affiliations” for example the Prince of Asturias Award in 2009 for scientific and technical research, the Webby Award in 2011 for a Lifetime Achievement, nominated for The Man Who Changed The World Award, and many more (Wikipedia.com). The most recognizable award he won was the Marconi Prize which is an award for the people that had advanced or improved communication, awarded by the Marconi Foundation (Wikipedia.com)(Awards). Today, Martin Cooper is living with 86 years of age. There are many people that don't admire peoples work, but Martin Cooper is one of the people we should admire for all what he has done. He created portable handheld radios for the Chicago police department and led to Cooper creating the first portable hand held phone and the first phone call in a cell phone. One should admire how his inventions led to inspiration for other wireless inventions and how the cellphone has improved over the years. The cellphone has improved in a massive way over the years and today is crazy to see how many people own cell
