Lyndon B. Johnson, often referred to as LBJ, was the 36th President of the United States, serving from 1963 to 1969. He took office after the assassination of President John F. Dr.Martin Luther king Jr was a Baptist minister and social activist. He led the civil rights movement and he used non violent protests to get the freedom that other blacks and himself deserved. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered this speech in a time of great civil unrest and the increasing of racial tensions. He showed many outstanding qualities ,perseverance,organizational ideas,dignity and respect. He was influenced by the idea of refusing to cooperate with an evil and unequal system.

He inspired others to follow because he made a personal commitment for his cause. The inspiration and the hope he gave was to all people not just one race. He gave people hope that one day that all people will be treated equally and be judged by their character. Martin Luther King was defiant as his home was bombed in 1956 and he continued with his dream showing his never give up attitude.

In their pursuit of this goal, they turned to nonviolence as their method of fighting back, placing their faith wholly in the loving peace which they believed in. Eventually, they would succeed.

That’s why MLK Jr was important to the Civil Rights Movement. Also, he cared about many important issues that had to be taken care of. Finally, he made bigger impacts on the freedom of African Americans than any other leader.

He was born on January fifteenth, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia, and led a very normal, two parent childhood, his father being a preacher and his mother also being very involved with the church, along with his two siblings. Martin realized during his youth what a devastating toll inequality was taking on America. An example of this would be when a young Martin and his father went into a shoe store and they were told they will not do business with “colored folk” in the front of the store; this hurt Martin’s feelings greatly, but his very religious mother had always told him, "even though some people make you feel bad
African Americans received no respect for decades and decades. No matter if you were old or young, man or a woman. Martin Luther King Jr. was an inspirational speaker sticking up for what was right. While dealing with the same disrespect all Negroes were receiving. King spoke out his hopes and wishes for the world, hoping to change the ways of many.
Martin Luther King Jr. also believed in civil disobedience which helped him united the majority of African Americans to protest with him in nonviolent ways leading to great change in american societies. But not all disobedience is effective for example, before MLK many Africans wanted to make a change but their anger clouded their judgment leading to deadly riots and protests

A great leader that pushed and motivated blacks to achieve equal rights for all.

Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. is a good leader because he fought for equal rights, he was a educated pastor, and he lead a movement that left behind a legacy that will be remembered forever. He played a very big role in ending segregation of African Americans in the U.S.(Biography, 2018).
