In 1951 the civil rights movement started because people were judged on their skin color. The Civil Rights Movement was trying to end segregation and have equal rights in the country. The African-Americans wanted equal rights and to not be segregated or judged by the color of their skin ,and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was the leader of this act .The act lasted 1950’s to 1960’s and happed in U.S in DC

.The civil rights movement was when people were baste by their skin color . The people who were affected were African American . Martin Luther King was the leader of the civil rights movement and most white where against segregation .They tried to end it by bowing marches ,boycott , speeches at protest peacefully . The civil rights happened in the U.S. but mostly happened in D.C. and South Alabama .

There was a girl called Luanda Brownen how was a Kansas student who wasn't allowed to go to the school by her house because she was colored ,it was also a white school .So her father went to court to fight to let her go to the school and that segregation was not fair .

There were some events like Brown vs the Board of Education. In 1954 the supreme court took the Brown’s case and said the law of segregated schools was banned.This Was the first time segregation was no longer allowed.But there were still lots of segregation laws in place.
