Martin Luther King Jr was a big influence in many people's life. He was born on January 15,1929. His original name was Michael but then his dad changed it to Martin. When Martin grew up life was pretty hard. When he was twelve years old his grandmother died. He was very close to her. When he found out the news he tried to commit suicide. He jumped out of the 2nd story of his house. Of course it was a failed suicide. In school he was very smart. In fact he skipped two grades. He skipped 9th grade and 11th grade. He even graduated college at 15. Most people are in there 2nd year of highschool at 15 years old. When Martins dad died he took over as a co-pastor. When he was 35 years old he was the youngest man to receive the Nobel Peace
