Martin Luther King Jr. was born in January 15, 1929 in Atlanta Georgia, US. In his early years, King was whipped and beaten by his father who said that "he would make something of him even if he had to beat him to death." In 1954, when he was 25, King became a Christian Minister. He was a strong believer in loving god, yourself and your enemies. However, King still practised self-defence and even owned guns to defend himself. It was a group of pacifists that guided him into his non-violent ways which emulated in his protests. Despite being largely involved in politics, MLK Jr. didn’t fully support either the republican or democratic party.
