Martin Luther King Jr. spent most of his life working hard to improve the lives of many African-American people. He was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was one of the most well-known American Civil Rights leaders in the 1960s. At fifteen years old, Martin Luther King attended Moorehouse College. Like his father, he wanted to become a minister. He graduated in 1948. In 1953, he was wed to Corretta Scott while at Boston Graduate School, doing graduate work. They had a multitude of four children and were together until King's death. Around this time, King Jr. was an established Activist for Civil Rights who was working to put a stop to discrimination and to demolish the inequitable segregation laws in the South. In 1958, he released a book called "Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story" to the public. He moved to Atlanta with his family and became the co-pastor of his father's old church, Ebenezer Baptist Church in 1960. In 1962, Martin Luther King Jr. was convicted of leading a large march in the capital city Albany. Later on, he created a widely known verbalization that is known as the "I Have A Dream" speech. That very speech was a large inspiration to a multitude of African-Americans. Eventually, he led a protest against segregation in buses. It began when a lady who was named Rosa Parks, who did not give up her seat (and is now famous for it), was apprehended. King Jr. was a known potent speaker. He had knowledge on how to lead protests, and how to involve others. He is the foremost reason for the modern equal rights between those of different races today. After the protests began because of the Rosa Parks issue, King Jr additionally enheartened others to boycott the segregated buses.
